Santa Project - Finished Piece

Pixelated Santa, done in the vein of old arcades, with screen and everything.
Below, with pixelated clouds on the background. Not too sure if it works or not, but I'll post it as well as a variant of sorts.

And below, the Santa Claus with the Arkham City theme. It didn't look as good as I first tought, but I'll still post them there to show some work went in those as well. Two variants:

Santa Project -Sketches and WIP

Some sketches about some of the ideas. The drawings on the end of that page will most likely be used as a blueprint for the pixel art picture, if I get it finished in time.

A preview of the pixelated Santa.

Initial sketch of the first idea, the Arkham City parody.

And here it is, shaping up. Even though it could appear to be mostly complete, I'm sure a lot of changes will take place until the finisehd piece.

Santa Project -Moodboard

A few ideas I've already tossed around. Either a parody of this Arkham City in-game poster but changing Hugo Strange with Santa Claus:

Or a pixel-art rendition of Santa Claus running on rooftops, heavily inspired games such as Sonic, Jazz Jackrabbit or Canabalt:

Plane Crash -Unfinished Piece

Will post a better version as soon as I can. I'm not happy with this, it was meant to be way better.

Plane Crash -Sketches, mockups and color studies.

Preparation sketches. Trying to get a good enough angle.
After the angle has been settled more or less, I refined the shot, trying to balance everything.

I made a mockup with photos I compiled during my research (all of them present in the moodboards), trying to grasp the feeling of the scene better, see how textures would work.

After that, I went on and tried some color schemes of my own, of various daytime settings.
I did them first on one of the first sketches, then onto what supposedly will be the final piece's composition.

Below: Night time.
Daytime.
Sunset.

I've got more stuff on my sketchbook, hopefully I'll be able to scan it asap and include it in here.

Plane Crash - Research and Moodboards

A lot of research for this particular one, this is gonna be tricky.
I'll upload more moodboards and videos while I'm working if I think it's necessary to show all of my research.

Halloween - The "Work in Progress" Festival.

So, I missed the deadline. Everyone knows that. But I've actually worked on this and I will show you my progress so far.

Long story short, I was right.
Working on several ideas at a time wasn't going to do me any favours.

After dumping the "Zombie Detective" idea, I went full on the "Pin up Zombie" one. I even had to create a new moodboard because the other ones weren't well suited for that task. Research was done. I had a goal.

Here you have the basic lines for the design. Looking good, right? I did the waitress as a regular human first, so she could be zombified later. I am really happy at how's developing, but then...

Well, look at that. Zombiefying the girl doesn't work as well as I thought it would, neither does the whole idea. I decide to keep this drawing unfinished. Grab my notebook, start sketching for new ideas. Well, then...

This designs come out and I'm excited about working again. As you can see, this is based around my "Trick or Treat" idea, where a kid will be dressed as a monster, and then that monster is shown behind him while he's doing the trick or treat routine. Notice how I made some parallels between the monster and the kid's dress -The skull, the gloves, the tree branches will be those parasite legs the monster has on his back, the way the kid ties his cape are little arms in the monster's chest, the belt also mimicks the belts the monster has attacked (PinHead's Hellraiser-like), his torn cape are the wings...

So if you remember the sketches for the composition, I placed the current designs into place...

And that's how it's looking so far. Work in progress, I'm still fighting to finish it. Just so you know, I did worked on it.

Adding color right now. Wish me luck.
